“The truth is everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for” – Bob Marley

This just in: “Time is slip, slipping away”

What are you talking about?

Time! You’re running out of time.

Time for what?

Options. Shopping days.

Oh man. I hate this time of the year.

I start to feel guilty about something and it grows exponentially with each passing day right up to 12/25.

Soon enough, panic sets in.

Same thing with anniversaries, birthdays, mother’s day etc.

The source of all this angst is my woeful lack of understanding of women. So it seems.

For instance, if, years ago, my wife had given me a riding lawn mower for my birthday or our anniversary or whatever, I would have jumped for joy. Screamed “Oh yeah” to the heavens. “There is a God after all”.

Now, as a guy, I naturally applied the same logic to the choice of an appropriate anniversary present. What woman wouldn’t cherish an appliance on such an auspicious occasion? Such as a bread maker or a Maytag washing machine.

I’ve learned some hard lessons through the years my friends.

Eventually, I decided that Jewelry was a safe option for any occasion. A sure bet. Can’t miss. Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

As I recall, it was our 35th wedding anniversary. Diamond ear rings. Expensive but………..the right choice?

Bob, you shouldn’t have. They are beautiful but………………we really need a new lawn mower.

Stay tuned.

If we ever get down there I’ll take you up on that coffee. Also, I’ll want to meet the Angel.

Always a pleasure my friend, I particularly enjoyed this post.

Regarding the girl with the Angel wings, welcome to the club! Everyone loves her! One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do is learn to accept that fact, and all that comes with it. She gets more hugs and warm greetings in a single day than I did in my whole lifetime combined! At this point all I can really do anymore is watch in awe and feel as if I am witnessing true greatness, and I gotta tell ya my friend, it’s an awesome sight to see.

As further real evidence of the kind of greatness and uniqueness that I’m talking about, I’m about to show you personally an example of the daily miracles that Angels like her create wherever they may go. Real Angels are amongst us, but we don’t often see them. Because they hide their wings.

What would you say if I told you that you have probably more than once, walked right past this very Angel? Yes her, the girl with the Angel wings, the very same girl who’s mere image inspired you to confess feelings of love even at the risk of losing your own life if your wife reads this! Yes my friend, you have actually stood near an Angel, My Angel, you just didn’t see her, because she hides her wings.

Right about now you’re probably thinkin’ that I’m just plumb nuckin’ futs, and I reckon I might too if I were you. But ya see my friend, the truth is, my Angel and I live right down the road from you, At least as long as you still live in your new digs near Proctor. And chances are since Brownwood is where you probably do at least some of your shopping, and because there’s only one major source of most goods in this town, there’s a very strong likelihood that you walked right in front of “The girl with the Angel wings” as she peered at you from her seat at the Bank. You just didn’t recognize her, she was hiding her wings.

If I’ve done this right, you’re probably feeling a lil’ strange right now. Trust me, I know that feeling. On the other hand, even if I’m wrong, you’re still much closer to a girl with Angel wings than you ever imagined possible. Maybe you and the wife should drop by someday for a cup of coffee and the chance to see for yourselves if what I have said is true. Do Angels really exist? Do they really walk among us but we just don’t recognize them, because they hide their wings?

Coffee’s on me my friend, come and see.

PS: You may wanna read my latest post, it offers a closer glimpse into the amazing life of “The Girl With the Angel Wings”.
