Looking Back

“Love is a greater mystery than death” – The Bat by Jo Nesbo

Today, May 30th, Gaby and I celebrated 49 years of marriage, to each other.

No one else.

Just the two of us.

49 years ago, May 30, 1968, we took the plunge. Till death do us part.

I’m not sure two human beings were meant to live together exclusively for that long. Not many make it anymore.

During that time I wonder how often we fell in and out of love and back in love with each other. A dozen times maybe.

Raised 2 kids.

Endured 2 teenagers.

Somehow. Some way. She put up with me.

Somehow. Some way. I put up with her.

Somehow. Some way. We made it work.

That’s got to be worth something.

Looking back – I’d do it again.
