Boredom

“Sometimes life has a cruel sense of humor, giving you the thing you always wanted at the worst time possible”

Saturday morning. Weekly phone conversation with my daughter.

So things are really dull around here now that they’re not moving any rigs out.

Poor guy.

Maybe. It’s weird. When we were moving rigs out of here weekly it was hectic and the work got tiresome. We were praying for days like this. Hardly any traffic. Not much to do.

Now that we’re not moving rigs out, most of the time I sit on my butt and read. Or walk. Or contemplate.

Mind you, I’m not complaining……………….yet.

So…………you miss the hectic activity.

Well…………..possibly. At least some of it. It’s like longing for July in January. When you have it, you don’t enjoy it but you miss it when you don’t.

I need to learn to appreciate the wonderfulness of boredom.
