“Today I bent the truth to be kind, and I have no regret, for I am far surer of what is kind than I am of what is true.” – Robert Brault
Thinking back, through each decade of my life, with each of them I lost a little more faith in my fellow man. The volume of deceitful bastards crossing my path was too large and consistent to ignore. It remains so to this day.
However, out of the muck, rising like a Phoenix, another breed of the Human species began to take form and gather substance. The older I got, the more I appreciated the gift of those with a pure heart.
They don’t preach.
They smile often.
You want to be near them, part of their inner circle.
And you sense instinctively that they are good. A special good. A rare good. To the bone good.
And, they have many friends, Volumes of friends. People who love them.
This is Bobby Walker. Conoco Co Man. 30+ years drilling for oil.
He is one of them.
We love this man.
“Her affliction was one of the heart, not the brain. She felt things too deeply and acted on those feelings, and for that there was no known cure.” – “Nature Girl” – Carl Hiassen
I really enjoy these snippets of positive humanity. The good Lord knows we don’t get much positive in the news and why you and I try to avoid it. This kind of stuff renews faith in humanity. Thanks for sharing.
