Tale of the Band-Aid

“You’re never as tough as other people believe you are.” – “Blind Spot” Robert B. Parker

Cut my finger. Not a very big cut but significant enough that blood has spotted my clothes as well as the floor. Need a Band-Aid. Not a tourniquet……just a regular size Band-Aid.

One caveat. A big caveat. Locate the Band-Aids without dripping more blood on my clothes and surroundings. The person in charge of procuring and storing medical supplies is sleeping.

Don’t want to wake her. I can do this.

The last time I saw them they were on top of the washing machine so………………

Whoa………………..what’s this? A pile of stuff where the Band-Aids should be.

At my age, this is a bit of a problem. I’m not as coordinated as I once was so staunching the blood while I dig through layers of intangibles for a Band-Aid is a challenge.

Anyway, I dig down through 4 layers of towels, 3 boxes of Kleenex and half a dozen clothes pins without losing a drop of blood.

Finally, the menagerie is exposed.

Hmmm……8 boxes. Size and picture on the front. Just need a regular size.

What is this? These are all large enough to cover the front grill of a Mack truck.

I just need to cover a small cut………………..not something the size of a floor mat.

PUSSYCAT!!!!!!!!!
