Pain

“I haven’t got time for the pain – I haven’t got room for the pain – I haven’t the need for the pain” – “Haven’t Got Time for the Pain”Carly Simon

Moved to another gate yesterday. And yet, I’m still alive……still functioning at some level.

The pain speaks to me. AT 72 YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR MIND!

At my age, I should be laid back in a cool, comfortable environment with scantily clad virgins feeding me grapes.

And alas, there I was. 95 temp with 99% humidity. 2 hours in the sun. Moving 40 lb. water bottles, storing hoses and all the other assorted stuff necessary to life in an RV.

Drove over 40 miles of bad road to the new site just to repeat in reverse the entire, debilitating process.

Today, as I binge on Aleve, Allergy and Prostate meds, my body is screaming at me ……..” What the hell is wrong with you?”

“Ever notice that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?” – George Carlin

if we could only just ‘click our heels’! I saw that clip last night on a re-run documentary about tornadoes in this region…the MN worst happened 129 years ago and devastated Sauk Rapids completely…and the exact spot I live on today. Lightning doesn’t strike twice…does it? Don’t envy you the move in that heat and humidity. The whole premise of being so self-contained and mobile is awesome to me. Hope the new area has something of interest for your down time!

Thanks Bonnie for info and best wishes. The one thing this new area has is great cell phone service. Believe me, in our isolation, this is at the top of the wish list. Always nice to know you are alive and well Bonnie.

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger. I literally have to gird my loins for our moves. Extra heart medicine, analgesics and linament are the order of the day. I try to anticipate the move and start stashing stuff early. The next day, I am all stoved in and the pain serves as a reminder for days after.

Mark, nice to know another shares my pain. Well, maybe not if you happen to be that person. Thanks for letting me know I am not alone.
