Hello.
Hello Cliff. Did I wake you?
No. I was just thinking.
About what?
My telephone.
Huh. Thinking about your phone?
Why do you ask?
Just…………………………….well…………….never mind. Listen, how was your shift last night? Any problems?
No. Just a few sand trucks.
Got to tell you man, I sleep easy at night knowing you’re on duty and guarding the homeland.
I make it a point to keep those sneaky Canadians out.
Canadians? What………………I mean……………………Why?
They are a bunch of fanatical royalists.
I’m not following you.
Ever seen that Canadian funny money? They got pictures of the Queen on it. And they have a secret back door for the Brits to sneak into the country.
Cliff……………….I………………………………..please tell me there are no sharp objects near you.
The Canadians are a problem. We had to kick them out of New York. They were always walking around singing Oh Canada in Times Square and irritating the hell out of the Ranger fans.
Plus you could hardly understand them. They speak this strange language. Every other word is “eh”.
I have to leave you now Cliff. It’s going to be a long night.
Sleep well. I’m on duty.
