Peanut Butter

“Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.”

I think I’m becoming addicted to Peanut Butter and Jelly. No, that’s not true. I’m not becoming……………….I am addicted to PBJ.

I just love the stuff. Does that seem odd? I mean, it’s sort of normal to like PBJ, but to love it? Even crave it?

My wife doesn’t share this craving. Neither do my kids. Just me.

Is this part of the ageing process? I don’t recall my parents going through a similar phase.

White bread, sourdough, whole wheat, chibata rolls, and even flour tortillas. It’s good on anything.

Dirt would taste good with PBJ.

I’m focused.

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?

  1. I used to like that but we have given up sugar…and legumes…and trans fats (no that is not obesity among transsexuals)
Anyway, now we are into almond butter. The only ingredient is dry roasted almonds. Just sayin. But hey at your stage of life and since you are svelte….who cares? Right?0

  2. I used to make peanut butter and butter sandwiches on toast. Haven’t had that for a few years, but oh, I remember the melty goodness of that combination! P.S. I also truly enjoy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Sometimes I make toast, though, a put some honey to soak into the toast and spread the PB over the honey. It melts together so nicely.

Thanks for the comment Sue. Your honey idea sounds great. I love honey so why not combine the two. Yum. Try this…..spread a thin layer of peanut butter on half of a flour tortilla. Spread a thin layer of your favorite jam or jelly on top of the peanut butter. Then roll the tortilla up tightly. Nuke in micro oven for 15 seconds. You have no idea how good that is.

Try it slathered with butter as a base. I have a slice of bread with PB and butter most nights. PB and whatever addicts unite!!

This is a very nice post. The sentiment beneath it has been very aptly put out there. I really like it.
