Old Men Cry a Lot

“Happiness comes from taking all of the credit and none of the blame.” From “Guilt” by Johnathan Kellerman

Daddy, what’s wrong?

Nothing really. Old men just cry a lot.

Why?

Just do.

But I’ve never seen you like this before.

Most of the time, men hide their feelings. With age it becomes harder to conceal them. Time strips the veneer.

Daddy please don’t do this. Please stop.

If I could rid you of your hurt and pain, I would.

But it’s not your fault.

Doesn’t matter. It is my burden, my cross, and it will always be.

“Family is a powerful force. It can shape you, build you up or ruin you.”  From “Iron House”  by John Hart
