You are what you read.

“Dear paranoid people who check behind their shower curtains for murderers, if you find one, what’s your plan?” – Unknown

You are what you read.

Why not?

If you can be what you eat…………….you can be what you read. That said, I must be some compilation of all of the following:

James Lee Burke

John Connolly

Greg Isles

Elmore Leonard

Ac Atkins

David Baldacci

Lee Child

Harlan Coben

Robert Crais

Nelson Demille

Vince Flynn

John Grisham

Jonathan Kellerman

William Lashner

Dennis Lehane

John Lescroart

Robert B. Parker

I enjoy many others, but these preferences may offer a glimpse into my soul.

If I had to pick one above all others it would have been James Lee Burke. That is until I finished his latest. “Light of the World” is a trip on the dark side. Make sure you make peace with the big guy before reading this one.

As a result of the book, I’m now more observant at the gate. While most of the people who pass through are normal (whatever that is and I’m not too sure), a few, upon closer inspection, don’t seem to be quite right. Sort of like maybe their brain is a squirrel cage. Is that you Asa Surrette?

Seems like when I was less observant, I was less tense.

Funny thing, my reading habit. My choices appear to be exacting a toll.

A good dose of Mark Twain or Margaret Mitchell is just what the doctor ordered.

“OMG, I have finally discovered what’s wrong with my brain: On the left side, there is nothing right, and on the right side there is nothing left.”

And just for the heck of it:

Maybe if you threw some more women writers in there. …….just saying. And with that said, I sure loved me some Louis L’Amour when I was young.

OMG…lol! That is so funny…especially the last quote! I read a lot of the same authors as you and love them. My latest find is David Rosenfelt and his Andy Carpenter mysteries. He’s a dog lover…especially Golden Retrievers and that’s what got me hooked. Question. It’s been said that Dennis Lehune writes very similar to Robert Parker and Ace Atkins. Do you find that to be true? Parker & Atkins are two of my top favorites.

Well….first off….nobody writes like Parker except him. Ace Atkins is somewhat like Dennis Lehane but his subject matter is so different that it’s hard to compare them. Both are excellent.
