“Nobody goes there anymore; it’s too crowded.” Yogi Berra
Sometimes, mostly at night, we hear strange sounds emanating from the Texas “jungle” that creeps to within feet of our hacienda. Some cause for consternation.
“WHAT WAS THAT?” Maybe a feral pig. Possibly a Bobcat. Couldn’t have been a Coyote—could it? Naw.
There it is again. Did you hear it? Is a Sach around here? You know—Big Foot. Sure sounded like one.
Big Foot! You have an active imagination for sure.
Just sayin.
Tell you what……….tomorrow I’ll hike down Porker road and check for signs of a Sach. Happy?
Next morning. A foggy Porker road. I should probably wait until the fog lifts. Sure looks creepy. What the hell. I’ll just take my time and kind of amble along. Maybe whatever we heard left some tracks.
Let’s see…………..
Hard to tell what these are. Might be pigs or a dog. Maybe a small deer.
Hmmmm. Big cat? Wish I was better at this tracking thing. Daniel Boone….where are you when we need you?
Whoa………..what’s this? Could it be? No way Jose.
What was that? Heard something behind me. And that smell. Horrible.
What happened here? Something trampled and killed this cactus.
I know Big Foot doesn’t exist but…………strange things out here.
Think I’ll just go back and tell my wife to quit with these hallucinations. It just ain’t right.

I read, somewhere, that the soul without imagination is like the observatory without a telescope. May I further add that I believe it was William Blake who said, “What is now proved was only once imagined.” And, I guess my personal input would be that die-hard skeptics are like a roomful of vacuum cleaners. (simile……I am guessing you know the punch line) 🙂 Excuse me, but I must get back to the new information about the dark side of the moon……(no, it has nothing to do with the current administration)

Probably not. I’m banking on the fact that she never reads my blog. She does not have a computer and this is a good thing. What say you Vickie…………..any Bigfoots around there?

I am telling you that if you go monkeying around long enough, you might just be surprised. There is a subspecies, according to my sources, which can be making weird scratching noises, especially around 9 PM or so during a drought…..I think it is called Sascrotch? Or locally as Big****. ? I think they were first discovered disembarking from a saucer near the grassy knoll. Of course, some play for the Ravens and are well known.

We know what that subspecies is called……………..don’t we.
