NO PASSING LAW.  Requires a 2 lane country road with many no passing zones.

Driving on a nice, 2 lane country road without a care in the world. Just enjoying the scenery and sunshine. Oddly enough, there is very little traffic and the speed control is moving you along at a comfortable 65 mph.

Suddenly your bladder starts sending signals. Oops. Now you notice there is no shoulder, no place to pull over and you haven’t seen a rest area in the last 250 miles. Being a senior with bladder control issues you know this could get critical.

A sign ahead tells you it’s only 20 miles to Karnes City, about 20 minutes driving time. Should be able to hold it that long.

Just around a curve you find yourself stuck behind a 1939 pick up with 400 water melons in the bed. The truck is going 40 mph and 4 cars are stacked up behind it like a funeral procession. Some quick math and your 20 minute trip is now closer to 30 minutes and your bladder is now sending Tornado warnings.

You’ll never make it. You’ve got to pass. However, you can’t. Suddenly the road is marked for miles with the old double solid yellow no passing lines.

You are getting desperate. The pain is beginning. The pressure is mounting. There hasn’t been any traffic from the opposite direction for the past 50 miles. Maybe you can just pass.

Suddenly you enter a passing zone. Thank God. A quick look ahead and there it is, the first vehicle heading in the opposite direction in the last hour, coming at you like a locomotive on steroids.

And so it goes. No passing zones equal no traffic in the opposite direction. Passing zones equal just enough opposite direction traffic to make passing impossible.

Every 60 minutes, on some old country 2 lane road, somewhere in America, a poor senior citizen is trapped by the NO PASSING LAW. It’s just not right. There ought to be a law.
